Mary Baldwin University To Add Co-ed Education Programs

(STAUNTON, Va.) -- In a break from its single-sex residential tradition, Mary Baldwin University will offer new coeducational, three-year degree programs beginning next fall at its campus in Staunton. Mary Baldwin announced Monday that a newly created coeducational unit called University College will offer residential programs that will be open to men and women after their junior or senior years in high school. Men are already admitted to Mary Baldwin’s graduate and adult-degree programs but not to the residential college.

New Hilton brand, Marriott coming to Staunton Crossing Development

(STAUNTON, Va.) -- Construction of a Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites first and then a Tru by Hilton hotel, a completely new brand from Hilton Worldwide, is set to begin in the spring of 2017, said Scott Goldenberg, of Staunton Crossing Partners LLC, the developer on the project. The group is also planning for multiple food options, large retail, a gas station and possibly high-end office buildings.
Graphic Packaging International Plans $20 Million Expansion

(STAUNTON, Va.) -- A leading provider of packaging solutions to food, beverage and other consumer products companies, Graphic Packaging International, Inc. will invest $20 million to expand its operations campus in Staunton. The wholly owned subsidiary of Graphic Packaging Holding Company will create 43 new jobs in the region. The Company is one of the largest producers of folding cartons and holds a leading market position in coated-unbleached kraft and coated-recycled board.
Staunton Announces New FedEx Distribution Center

(STAUNTON, Va.) -- A new FedEx Ground Package Distribution Facility is under construction in the Green Hills Industrial Park. The facility will measure more than 200,000 square feet and will be positioned on approximately 30 acres. It is scheduled for completion in July 2016.
